Beets are a root vegetable that grow in the ground. They come in colors such as white, red and yellow and beets can be eaten cooked or raw. Beets contain antioxidants and beets also contain nutrients like folate, fiber and manganese.

Benefits of Drinking Beet Juice

Drinking beets juice is a good way for beets to be consumed since beets can be hard to chew or eat. Beet juice has different beets health benefits. Beets juice is known to be good for the liver, kidneys and gallbladder. As well beets can be used to reduce blood pressure and beet juice is also known to be good for digestion.

Beets are high in protein, fiber, iron and potassium. They increase stamina because of their high content of vitamin B1. Beet greens provide flavonoid anti-oxidants that fight carcinogens.

  • Lowers Blood Pressure – Beets contain magnesium which helps decrease blood pressure levels when added to the diet on a regular basis.
  • Healthy Digestive System – beets aid in moving food through the digestive system while providing healthy fiber that cleanses colon walls thus preventing colon cancer.
  • Lowers Cholesterol – beets contain insoluble fiber that lowers cholesterol by binding to bile acids and removing them from the body, helping to prevent heart disease, stroke and atherosclerosis. Beets also help reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol while increasing HDL (good) cholesterol levels in the blood.
  • Heart Health – beets are rich in potassium which helps maintain normal blood pressure levels as well as healthy fluid balance in cells throughout the body. Potassium is vital for proper nerve function, especially the transmission of impulses between the brain and muscles as it keeps muscles strong and healthy.
  • Cancer Prevention – beets are rich in folate which is essential DNA synthesis and repair.

Why Is Purple Kale Good?

The purple color in kale comes from the antioxidant anthocyanin, which may help prevent cancer and heart disease. Darker colored leafy greens like kale also contain more nutrients than lighter green or yellow veggies. So eat up!

Kale is among the healthiest of all vegetables because it provides an impressive amount of vitamins, minerals, fiber, protein and antioxidants. It’s considered a complete vegetable protein since one serving provides so much iron and calcium.

Benefits of Lime & Its Juice

Limes are a citrus fruit that grow on trees. Limes can be eaten raw but most commonly limes are used as an ingredient in food and beets juice is particularly popular. There are beets health benefits from drinking beets juice using lime. The presence of vitamin C, pectin fiber and limonene in beets helps the body absorb iron which is good for those suffering from anemia, fatigue or weakness.

  • Heart Health – beets have been shown to protect against strokes and heart attacks because of their high potassium level, which reduces blood pressure and prevents calcium from accumulating in the arteries leading to atherosclerosis
  • Digestive Aid – beets contain dietary fiber as well as digestive enzymes like betaine which helps to relieve constipation and beets also help remove toxins from the body
  • Skin Health – beets contain zinc, which is good for maintaining healthy skin/scalp. Zinc deficiency can lead to hair loss. The smell and taste of beets actually helps to ease stomach discomfort during bouts of nausea which reduces severity of symptoms associated with motion sickness or morning sickness in pregnant women. Ingredients
  

  • 4-6 apples (we use fuji)
  • 1 bunch purple kale
  • 1 piece of ginger
  • 1 beet (small)
  • 1/2 lime (with peel)

Instructions
 

  • Combine all fruits and vegetables into hopper. Close lid.
    4-6 apples, 1 bunch purple kale, 1 piece of ginger, 1 beet, 1/2 lime
  • Turn juicer on and watch the pretty colors!
