I’ll be honest. The thought of frozen herb cubes doesn’t sound appetizing.
When I think of herbs, my mind imagines food that’s fresh, savory, and picked-from-the-garden.
But the thing about herbs is that their genetic make-up really doesn’t matter; they can be raw, frozen, cooked, or dried and they’re amazing.
Without herbs, food would be bland. Herbs just make things taste better.
With that said…
Let me introduce, Dorot
Dorot is the brand that brings us frozen herb cubes; the good kind.
They currently offer these food varieties:
- Crushed Garlic Tray
- Crushed Ginger Tray
- Chopped Basil Tray
- Chopped Parsley Tray
- Chopped Cilantro Tray
- Chopped Chili Tray
- Chopped Dill Tray
- Sauteed Glazed Onions
You can find Dorot products at these locations (plus many more):

What’s So Great About Dorot?
Five reasons.
- Cheap
- Easy to Use
- Convenient
- Last a long time
- Fresh
After picking up two different Dorot herbs, garlic and basil, I discovered frozen herb prices were much cheaper than fresh ones. Plus, they’ll stay good for MUCH longer.
Just store them in your freezer until needed. No more late night trips to the grocery store because you’re in the mood for homemade pasta but don’t have any fresh basil or garlic.
Frozen herbs to the rescue!
How I Use My Dorot Herbs
So, after purchasing these new and exciting cubes, I felt hungry. I headed home, pulled out my new items, and decided to make some pesto since I bought the garlic and basil cubes.
Lazy and Efficient Should Be Synonymous
As a lover of quick and simple recipes, I came up with this little number and call it, “Lazy Pesto”. It’s got 5 ingredients, takes less than 15 minutes to make, and tastes pretty good too.
Check out this video for the recipe (or keep scrolling):
Ok, so I’m not the best videographer but hey, who cares? Here’s my recipe:
“Lazy Pesto”
INGREDIENTS
– 18 Dorot basil cubes
– 1 Dorot garlic cube
– 10 oz. angel hair pasta
– 2 Tbsp. olive oil
– 2 Tbsp. parmesan cheese (we used Go Veggie brand – it’s Vegan)
– Salt (for water to boil faster, optional)
DIRECTIONS
– Cook noodles for 5 to 6 minutes, then strain
– Add basil, garlic, oil, and parmesan, mix
– Serve
It’s really that easy.
Just keep in mind that this recipe will almost the entire pack of basil. But it’s totally worth it!
I hope you try this recipe out. Let me know how it turns out if you do!
